On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, the Management Study Program (PS Management) with the Internal Quality Assurance Institute (LPMI) of Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) held a Workshop on Reviewing the Alignment of the Design Vision, Mission, Goals, and Targets (VMTS) to the Graduate Profiles, Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), and Discussion for FGD Preparation Directions. This activity was attended by 40 participants from various internal parties at UIB funded by the Program Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka (PKKM) Grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) in 2021. The workshop started with opening remarks from the Head of LPMI UIB and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Ria Karina, S.E., M.M. Next, it is continued with the presentation of the vision and mission and graduate profile of the Management Study Program by the Head of the UIB Management Department, Dr. Evi Silvana, S.E., M.Sc. This activity invited a speaker, namely BM Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D. who is an expert and a Resource Person at the Directorate of Quality Assurance, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. In this workshop, BM. Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D. started the discussion by providing input on the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Targets (VMTS) of the Management Department. According to him, professionals as characters must have goodwill, high skills, self-discipline, and serve. He emphasized that the vision and mission must unite all study programs as the goals in learning activities and study program development. The vision and mission must also be specific, so it can provide a clearer focus on resources and will later give a very strong appeal to prospective students to choose.
BM. Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D., emphasized that the Graduate Profiles and Learning Outcome (LO) must adhere to the concept of commitment. It is because if the expected outcomes are not achieved in the learning process, the same efforts must also be made to achieve a graduate profile and LO in the next academic year. In addition, it is also necessary to have more visible graduate profiles, so the implementation becomes more competitive. The Graduate Profiles and LO must be in line with the image desired by VMTS from PS Management. All of these insights are very valuable for the Management Study Program and LPMI and are very helpful in developing and improving the profile of graduates who are more competitive and more in line with the VMTS that has been previously developed by the Management Department. Next, the workshop was continued with the discussion to get inputs from BM. Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D. about the FGD activities that will be carried out by UIB. BM. Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D. pointed out that UIB must focus and provide important details for campus development to partners and provide an explanation of which direction the development will be carried out by UIB.
