The Management Study Program and the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) held a Workshop on Increasing Lecturer Capability in Data Analysis and Interpretation (Session 3) on Thursday, July 29, 2021. This workshop was funded by the Independent Campus Competition Program Grant (PKKM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek). The workshop was conducted via Zoom Meeting and Youtube platforms and attended by more than 100 participants from various institutions in Indonesia, namely UIB, UNAND, UNAS PASIM Bandung, IKMI, STIE Bentara Persada, UMN, UIS, ITATS, Ekasakti University, IST AKPRIND, STIKES Hang Tuah, and many other Institutions from Indonesia. The workshop is a continuation of the Workshop on Increasing Lecturer Capability in Data Analysis and Interpretation Series. In the 3rd session of the workshop, UIB invited Ir. Kridanto Surendro, M.Sc., Ph.D. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical and Informatics Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and an expert in research and publications both nationally and internationally. This workshop aims to improve the competence of lecturers and researchers in conducting publications, especially in analyzing and interpreting data.

In his presentation, Ir. Kridanto Surendro, M.Sc., Ph.D. described Oneway Anova Model in empirical research that evaluates differences between groups based on one grouping variable and analysis of mean and variance. He also explained that the results of ANOVA will tell that the difference between the groups, where the difference was, how big the difference was, or whether there were two of the three groups that differed more or less than the others. Ir. Kridanto Surendro, M.Sc., Ph.D. also explained how the post hoc test (after the fact test) allows the results to be explored in more detail without ignoring the assumptions made in the main test. This allows the researcher to determine which group scores differently without ignoring the fact that more than two groups are being compared. He also explained that in determining the type of analysis between statistical or descriptive analysis, researchers need to pay attention to the type and pattern of research used from previous references. The reference used also needs to be checked whether the study method used is an independent study or not. In addition, in determining the source of the journal reference, it is also necessary to review the publication of the journal you want to go to. In the research, it is also necessary to strengthen the theory of the quality of the references used and to strengthen the calculations using supporting tools. Researchers are also required to be more confident in publishing journals with expanded analysis and interpretation. All the new insights and knowledge gained from this workshop become an excellent reference for the Management Study Program and LPPM of UIB in conducting future research.
