Joint Degree (2+2) Program is an international program in which UIB students can take 2 years at UIB and 2 years at overseas partners. This program is already implemented with some overseas partners; one of them is Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, China. UIB started to implement this 2+2 program with Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, China in 2014. There are totally 12 students who already completed and graduated from this program.
One student, Jack Learn, from Management Study Program has just graduated from 2+2 program with Nanjing Xiaozhuang University this year. Jack started his journey in Nanjing-China in September 2019. He learned and actively engaged during the learning process in Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, China. However, the pandemic should stop his travel to China; consequently, he had to participate in online classes and not meet their international friends in China.
These obstacles did not discourage his eagerness and willingness to continue his study in Nanjing Xiaozhuang University. Jack is an energetic and helpful student during his study in Nanjing Xiaozhuang University. Jack achieved Leadership Achievement from Nanjing Xiaozhuang University since he is always ready to assist and support other students. As a reward, Jack was awarded scholarship from Nanjing Xiaozhuang University.
As proverb said that “The results will not betray the business’, Jack Learn has successfully completed his study with 2+2 program at Nanjing Xiaozhuang University this year. He has just had a graduation ceremony virtually on June 18th, 2021. Jack explained, “I deeply appreciated that UIB give the opportunities in join the program that allow me to had the experience in studying aboard, the reason I choose NXU is because of the difference between China and Indonesia. We all known that China is a rapid evolving country that had high economical, industrial and technological level that we Indonesian are lack in many ways by learning and adopt the difference we known that what are the aspect that we Indonesian lack and may improve. NXU provide many learning possibilities that had us in many ways to teach that doesn’t only limited to book while also provide in field studies and live example that approach directly the way of learning out of the book increase exponentially and multiple method of learning. The difference method of teaching is the main difference of both countries, but both universities provide excellent environment for student, as a stay-in college NXU provide us foreigner much help in adopting in staying there, and passionate local student also willing to initiate in helping or reaching out while doing sport or other event, as there is also student from other university that come from different part of Indonesia this also maybe the chances that increase our social life that we can approach different people from different background.”
