Batam, August 2, 2021. The Campus Life Introduction Program (P2K2) Universitas Internasional Batam was officially opened by the Rector of UIB on July 31, 2021. P2K2 is a program for new students for debriefing and initial guidance regarding language tests, self-introduction, and character-building and student independence, introduction to implementing elements, and infrastructure on campus.
P2K2 UIB in 2021 brings a theme entitled “Unstoppable me!!”: Developing Creativity, Resilience, and Professionalism for Z Generation. This program was held online for the 2nd time at UIB but still channeled the same spirit to welcome new students from the 2021/2022 class.
P2K2 is an effort to increase a sense of unity and integrity and love for the homeland that is manifested in the form of P2K2 activities. In his speech, Dr. Iskandar Itan, UIB Rector said “P2K2 is a place to raise awareness about the importance of understanding globalization and the industrial revolution 4.0. This requires students to become people who live and have data literacy, technology, and humanity as well as readiness to master the competencies needed in the 21st century. In addition, prospective new students will also be equipped with an understanding of efforts to reduce the potential for transmission of Covid-19 and how to implement the Three Pillars of Higher Education during the pandemic.”
The opening of P2K2 also included a briefing from the Vice Rector III of UIB, Mr. Dr. Hepy Hefri Ariyanto. The activities held in the P2K2 series are the implementation of the Indonesian National Mental Revolution Movement (GNRM). “The goal is to change the way of thinking from student to student, we are expected to be able to shape the character of students who are honest, have a work ethic, and work together. So as a student, you can also realize Indonesia’s goals, namely Indonesia that is sovereign, independent, and has personality.” said Mr. Hepy in his presentation.
The P2K2 opening activity was closed with a group photo of the P2K2 participants. The number of prospective new students who attended the opening activity was 826 students along with 60 co-facilitators who attended the event via the UIB BPKA Youtube channel.
