On Friday, August 06, 2021, the Management Study Program held a Curriculum Preparation Workshop (Study Materials, Course Design, Curriculum Weighting, and Mapping) on Thursday, August 05, 2021. This workshop was funded by the Program Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka (PKKM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). The workshop was attended by 40 participants from all UIB internal parties. The workshop began with an opening by the moderator, Ms. Dewi Khornida, and continued with a discussion with the speaker, namely BM. Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D. The speaker explained that many ways can be used in determining learning outcomes, so there needs to be an integrating mechanism that can regulate more focused learning outcomes. Learning Outcomes (LO) can also be prepared by adjusting to the existing era. The preparation of this LO and curriculum must be unique and creative, so its application can attract students in their learning.
BM. Purwanto, MBA, Ph.D. explained that in determining the courses in the curriculum, adjustments must also be made to the abilities that students must-have in the world of work. It can also be used as a reference in determining the success of achieving a graduate profile that has been achieved which is called direct measurement. The achievement of the graduate profiles can be seen from the percentage of achievement of learning outcomes of each student on exams, assignments, or quizzes given by lecturers. Students are also expected to be directed from the first semester, so the students’ mindset will be formed faster and easier to direct when carrying out their final assignments. Of course, this can be achieved if the study materials and learning outcomes are unique and creative. These insights and inputs are very helpful for the Management Study Program in determining the development of an OBE-based curriculum. The input, which is mostly focused on study materials and the design of this course, is expected to help the Management Study Program improve the quality and quality of graduates so that they are more in line with the needs of today’s world of work.
