Social service activities around Nongsa Beach have been carried out by the Environment division of USA Student Activity Unit on July 3, 2022 at 08.00 – 14.00 WIB. This activity went smoothly and was greeted with great enthusiasm from the participants. This social service activity was attended by 30 students of Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB). Because it is still in a pandemic condition, students who go directly to the field (around Galang Baru Beach) still adhere to the applicable health protocols, by always maintaining cleanliness and distance.
This social service was carried out in several sessions, starting with the opening by the chairman of the committee and the chairman of the USA, prayer, then after the prayer followed by a beach cleaning session (picking up trash, both masks and other garbage), then there was a games session and the last session was closed with a group photo.
For the future USA Student Activity Unit will continue to increase activities that are useful for UIB students and the surrounding community. The beach is a recreational facility that must be kept clean, beautiful, sustainable, and safe and comfortable by all of us. Masks or other garbage would be nice after we no longer use them, throw them in the trash or if there are no trash cans around us, then collect them together in 1 large plastic so they don’t scatter and disturb the view. Create a comfortable atmosphere so that we can still enjoy beaches throughout Batam City.
