The business we are going to run is called Story.ID, this business is engaged in making greeting cards, business cards, and packaging made from recycled paper or what we can call eco paper. The reason we chose this business is because paper waste is a quite dominating problem, moreover the source of paper production comes from wood which can cause illegal logging that will results in global warming and various environmental problems. Reporting from (Akbar, 2020) the need for paper has increased by 2% with each year passing, leading to the potential of being developed for the paper industry. Currently, paper is believed to be the most effective and efficient material for packaging media. We made effort to recycle used paper into reusable paper and create aesthetic value through the greeting cards, business cards and packaging that we will offer. Increasingly tight competition in marketing products requires small and medium businesses to attract consumers to their products. We hope that with the thank you cards and packaging made of eco paper that we produce, we can increase the selling value of MSME products and increase the awareness of the surrounding community about paper waste. So that in the future the utilization of paper waste will be maximized.
Products or Services
In the Story.ID business, we have several products and services that we offer to our customers. That is:
- Thank You Card
The Thank You card is a flagship product that we make from recycled paper with the aim of reducing paper waste production, as well as increasing the selling value of MSME products. In addition, we also help provide product logo designs to maximize the appearance of products sold by MSMEs.
- Packaging
In addition to processing used paper into thank you cards, we also process used paper into packaging for MSME products in the form of boxes or wrapping boxes.
- Name Card
Story.ID also serves the making of name cards using recycled paper which is environmentally friendly. This name card can be used as a congratulatory card for certain events such as holidays, Mother’s Day greetings, and others.
- Seminar on processing waste paper into recycled paper
Story.ID also supports the widespread use of paper waste as a recycled product. Story.ID is committed to providing training on the utilization of paper waste as another product that has economic value.
Quoted from a source (Keeping Notes of Our Paper Trail, 2019) in Indonesia alone, on average, each person consumes 27 kg of paper per year and paper waste accounts for 28% of the total waste that accumulates in landfills. The solution is the same for every other type of waste which is to reduce and recycle. To overcome this problem, we will offer products in the form of greeting cards, business cards and product packaging made from recycled paper, especially for MSME entrepreneurs and online shop sellers. In our services, we offer seminar events that will provide information about the utilization of paper waste into reusable paper and the impact of paper waste on the world today. Through Story.ID, we hope that the existing paper waste can at least be reduced and provide a new element of value through processed used paper and provide benefits for MSME entrepreneurs or online shop sellers.
