The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Tax (Kanwil DJP) of the Riau Islands (Riau Islands) on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 held an inauguration event for students participating in Tax Volunteers in 2020. This event took place at the Auditorium of the Riau Islands Regional Office of the Riau Islands at 08.00 to finish. Participants who attended were not only students but included lecturers from several universities in Batam. The volunteer participant must assist taxpayers in terms of filling the annual tax return.
This inaugural activity is the second year of inauguration of the Tax Volunteers conducted by the Regional Office of the DJP Kepri. Batam International University (UIB) itself sent as many as 17 field assistant lecturers and 77 cross-departmental students to be confirmed as Tax Volunteers in 2020. After participating in the inauguration process, tax volunteer participants were sent to North Batam KPP.
Tax Volunteer Program 2020 lecturers and UIB students conducted at the North Batam KPP starting on February 17, 2020. Participants receive direct instruction and initial training directly with the KPP in the first week. On February 21, 2020, the Tax Volunteer Team is actively engaged to meet Taxpayers in the Industry and open a Tax Corner at the Grand Batam Mall so that people’s access to Tax Volunteers is easier.
The volunteers are expected to provide facilities for taxpayers and, no less important, can increase taxpayer awareness of tax obligations.
