Five students of the Architecture Study Program, Universitas Internasional Batam 2019 succeeded in gaining achievements at the National level by winning the best work in the national poetry competition with the theme ‘Mother’. The competition was held by the Literature Office on November 22 – December 15, 2019 and participated by a total of 620 participants. 200 of the best works were published in ISBN books. The five students who won the achievement were Aprilia Chandrawati, Billy Shevriyanto, Coral Aswanti, Elyn Fransiska, and Mikel Owen.
In the same month, students of the UIB Architecture Study Program also took part in the 2019 national poetry copyright competition organized by Fun Bahasa Indonesia. This competition was held in the context of the poem writing festival with “Mother” theme with the total of 2000 participants. The 100 best poems were selected to be published in ISBN anthology poetry books. The competition was attended by two Architecture Study Program students, namely Aprilia Chandrawati and Coral Ashanti. Aprilia Chandrawati’s work has been selected as the 100 best poems and has been published in an ISBN book.
The two competitions which were attended by UIB Architecture students produced two ISBN books by students in which it is a proud achievement for the Architecture Study Program. “Very happy and did not expect to be selected from all participants and have an ISBN book,” said Aprilia Chandrawati, one of the students who won the best national poetry in 2019.
