Shahah & Shahlaa are twins born prematurely on January 23, 2020, at Graha Hermine Hospital, Batu Aji, Batam. When they are born, the weight of each baby is 1.8 kg and 1.6 kg. Both are daughters of Ms. Lipa Alminahda and Mr. Omar.
The family got information from the hospital and social media, namely YouTube, that there were free incubator volunteers provided by Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB). Previously, the two babies had received incubator treatment from the hospital. After receiving a free incubator from UIB, the baby’s condition shows good development within a one-week usage period. The weight of the two babies reached 2.5 kg and 2.7 kg in two weeks because the baby was getting enough milk from the mother.
In the transition period from 2 kg to 2.5 kg, incubators are rarely used due to the Batam weather factor and home factors which also have less air space. For information, the normal weight allowed to repatriate an infant incubator is around 2.5 kg.
