Movie Talk is one of activities held anually by the Student Association of English Education Department. This activity contains watching a film and sharing ideas with other students, how the film provides a message to students and how students think broadly and critically. This activity was first held in 2018 and conducted by the first two years students of English Education. HMPS submitted approximately 5 films to discuss the intricacies.
The films does not only use English subtitles, but it can be beyond that language. For example a Russian film added with English subtitles. Movie talk does not only share ideas, students also will be able to wrap up the important points from the film given by a speaker as an invited guest. Students will play games related to the movie talk in groups as well. In the beginning of the activity, each individual also gets an assignment to enhance the students focus on the film. Up to this point, students can learn and play about the topic being disucssed in a foreign language.
