UIB International Relation Office held a 5-series-international-webinar entitled Young Muslim Go Global. This webinar started from July 4th – 25th, 2020 focusing on encouraging university students to engage in UIB international programs. UIB offers several international programs, such as language and cultural camp, credit transfer, 2+2 program, 3+2 program, internship program, and Darmasiswa Republik Indonesia.

The first webinar started on July 4th, 2020 bringing theme of Balancing Study and Work in Japan, Why Not? The first webinar invited two UIB alumni of TIEI Tochigi, Japan & BIT Okutama, Japan. Both of them shared their so interesting experience during their programs in Japan that ensure them to continue their living in Japan. They inspired the audience of the webinar to be brave to take risks in life that may unpredictably change your life as well.

The second webinar entitling Joy and Sorrow Studying Foreign Language invited two alumni of Darmasiswa Republik Indonesia from Thailand and Ukraine. The webinar was going very interestingly. The audiences of the webinar were very curious on their experiences during their study in Indonesia, such as cultural shock, challenges, effective ways to learn language, and etc. “Just go”, said Victoria, can be the simplest and most memorable message which conveys message for the audience to take any opportunities that came into life; not to miss any chance in life.

The third webinar focusing on Dual Degree Program brings up a theme of Enriching Your Education with Dual Degree Program. This webinar invited two UIB alumni who participated in Dual Degree Program in South Korea and Japan. The audiences should be touched by their thoughtful sharing on how persistent they struggle during the program. Both the speakers face similar struggles on their study since they need to face different education systems and cultures.

The fourth webinar entitling Accelerate Your Future by Joining Fast Track Program share experiences of two UIB alumni participating in Fast Track Program. Living and studying abroad is indeed not easy. Still remember the struggle of one of the Muslim speakers to find Halal food in Taiwan or to celebrate Mubarak in Taiwan. However, it does not reduce his passion to continue his study in Taiwan.

The last webinar was ended cheerfully by three friendly speakers. The last webinar enlighten a theme of Challenge and Change Yourself with International Experience that focus on short international programs. Despite the shortest programs, the audience may see the self-improvement of the speakers after the program, specifically on their public speaking ability. It was an inspired experience on how they always prepared the topic every evening in order they were able to speak with other participants in the next day.

Indeed, studying and living abroad is not easy to implement due to cultural and education differences, especially for Muslim students. However, studying and living abroad may better ourselves in many aspects and teach us to be persistent, independent, and other life skills. So, are you the next candidate of UIB International Programs?
