Faculty of Economics, Universitas Internasional Batam (FE-UIB) in collaboration with the Batam Branch of the Indonesian Economics Association (ISEI-Batam) initiated a webinar entitled Economic Recovery of Riau Islands in the Pandemic Era which was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 09.00 to 12.00 pm using the platform Zoom.
The webinar was held because the spread of Covid-19 was felt to have an impact on an unstable economy. Where the economic growth, especially in Riau Islands in 2020, is only around 1.5%, far below the growth rate in the previous year. For this reason, this webinar was held as an effort to improve the Riau Islands’ economic recovery strategy in the pandemic era by presenting the speakers, Pebrialin Razak, SE., M.Si. Chairman of ISEI Batam Branch, and Batam Government Economic Assistant, Gunawan as Head of the KEKDA Formulation team, Dr. Suyono Saputra, a lecturer at Universitas Internasional Batam University. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Yulfiswandi, a lecturer at Universitas Internasional Batam. Participants came from among students as many as 82 participants and were attended by 35 lecturers.
