Despite the pandemic of Covid19, Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) with overseas partners still try to collaborate using online platform. UIB and Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan already collaborated to conduct an artificial intelligence online workshop. The online workshop was held from February 23rd to April 29th, 2021. There are 14 UIB students who participated in this program, namely 11 students from Electrical Engineering and 3 students from Information Technology.

This workshop was taught by five professors from Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 – 9 pm (Indonesia Time). “This workshop may enrich our students’ knowledge on Artificial Intelligence. We believe that the MCUT Professors can provide new knowledge that the students may not learn at UIB,” said Mrs. Ni’mah, the Head of Electrical Engineering Department of UIB.

At the end of the program, the students were given a time to present their works during the online workshop. The final presentation was held on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. Six groups were having excellent presentations as the professors gave compliment to their presentations. Some professors also gave suggestions to better their works.

At the end of the final presentation, Dr. Sabariman, the Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology, appreciated the students and professors for their effort to join this online workshop. “I know that all you already put all your effort during this workshop. Probably, some of you do not have enough background knowledge about the topics, but seeing all of you still survive is very surprising. To MCUT professors, I also would like to thank all of you to provide this opportunity. You voluntarily spend your time at the evening since Indonesia is one hour behind Taiwan.”
