The Kampus Mengajar program is one of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Programs which is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture in collaboration with the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP). This program aims to increase the capacity of lecturers to carry out activities outside the campus as Field Advisory Lecturers (Dosen Pembimbing Lapangan (DPL)) for students participating in Kampus Mengajar Program at Elementary Schools. Then, Kampus Mengajar Program also supports the Main Performance Indicators (Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU)) in higher education, namely off-campus experience and supports the implementation of MBKM.

To join Kampus Mengajar program, lecturers must follow the selection process which is carried out directly by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the website https://kampusmerdeka.kemdikbud.go.id. The selection process started from the opening of the registration on February 9-21, 2021, namely the registration of an account on the Merdeka Campus website. The lecturer, then, uploaded administrative data such as letters of recommendation from universities. Announcement of the selection results were on March 20, 2021 through the account.

Eight lecturers who successfully passed the Kampus Mengajar program are from Management, Tourism, English Language Education, and Information System Study Programs. The following is a list of DPLs from UIB, namely Dr. Oda Haryanto, Dame Afrina Sihombing, S.E., M.M, Dr. Wisnu Yuwono, S.E., MM, Edy Yulianto Putra, S.M., M.M, Dr. Robin, Maya Marsevani, S.Pd., M.Pd, Theodesia Lady Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Hum. and Yefta Christian, S.Kom, M.Kom. The placements of the lecturers are in Batam, Bintan, and Tanjung Pinang. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more UIB Lecturers who take part in the Kampus Merdeka Program.
