On August 15, 2021, Dr. Hendi Sama, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) declared the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in the Information Systems Study Program and Information Technology Study Program. This declaration is a signal that shows the community the direction of developing quality management, education management, and the goals of FIK to gain international recognition. This declaration is the result of the Development of an OBE-based Curriculum with IABEE standards on the Information Systems Study Program which began in July 2017. The entire process was funded by the Merdeka Campus Competition Program Grant. This declaration event was attended by approximately 300 participants consisting of students, parents, lecturers, and industry representatives.
The activity also invited experts from LAM Infokom who had been assisting the Information Systems Study Program, Prof. Dra. Sri Hartati, M.Sc., Ph.D. She also conveyed how the implementation of OBE and what benefits it had for students and lecturers. On this occasion, the chairman of the Information Systems Study Program, Tony Wibowo, S.Kom, MMSI, and the chairman of the Information Technology Study Program, Haeruddin, S.Kom., MMSI also conveyed the changes made to the curriculum and strategy for implementing OBE in the future. The students and parents welcome the presentation regarding how to implement OBE such as minor systems and startups. Both study programs will implement the OBE implementation process at the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year.
