Thursday, February 6, 2020 Undergraduate Program in Accounting and Management UIB together with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) conducted a group discussion forum related to lecturer development and student competencies in management and financial accounting. CIMA is an international certification body in management accounting (cimaglobal.com). Nowadays, the rapid development of accounting in the digital era makes the role of management accounting even greater. According to Mr. Dwi Putra Widiyanto, as the Country Manager of CIMA in Indonesia, the role of the accountant manager is very large, especially at the strategic level of companies that require analytical and innovative capabilities as well as being critical in dealing with global problems. Discussions conducted by CIMA with Lecturers in the Accounting and Management Program provide great insights for lecturers and open up lecturer development strategies through CIMA certification and curriculum review for students to be able to accommodate current industry needs.
