Monday, July 12th, was the last day of International Trade Law Online Course (ITLOC). ITLOC is an online course that was collaboratively conducted between UIB and University of Economics and Law, Vietnam. On the last day of ITLOC, it was held an International Joint Seminar on Comparative Law. In the seminar, the participants of ITLOC presented their research papers. There are totally nine presentations. In addition, the students were working in a group consisting of one student of UIB and one student from UEL Vietnam.

The seminar went very well. The participants successfully presented their research papers. The research papers were previously examined and supervised by UIB lecturers, namely Ms. Rina S. Shahrullah, Ph.D., and Ms. Rahmi Ayunda, S.H., M.H. After the presentations, the students got rich feedbacks from UIB lecturers, namely Ms. Rina S. Shahrullah, Ph.D., and Mr. David Tan, S.H., M.H. Unfortunately, the lecturers from UEL, namely Ms. Dao Gia Phuc, Ph.D., and Ms. Vu Kim Hanh Dung, Ph.D cannot fully join the seminar. They are going to send their written feedbacks to the students’ papers.

One of the participants from France, Alexandre Germouty who is an international student of UEL, gave his testimony on the program. “I have found this course to be quite beneficial in that it provided me with a solid foundation in international trade law. I was thrilled by the diversity of the professors as well as the students enrolled in this course. It gave me the opportunity to step back from the French view of business law and international trade law. Finally, it gave me a deeper understanding of the various approaches to trade law and how they are applied in different nations. I now have a greater appreciation of how complex international commercial law can be. I’d also like to highlight how wonderful it was to collaborate on a project with an Indonesian student,” explained Alexandre.
