[Batam, 19 December 2023] – Batam International University (PS-IH UIB) Bachelor of Law Program is holding an innovative program by inviting 8 experienced legal practitioners to teach at PS-IH. This activity is a strategic step in improving the quality of learning according to the standards of the Business World of Industry (DUDI), creating a memorable learning experience for PS-IH students. The program involved 8 practitioners from various legal fields, with 6 of them receiving PKMM funding and 2 through independent university funding.
Teaching practitioner activities will occur from October to December 2023 or after the 2023/2024 Odd Semester Final Examination. This implementation has been carried out in 8 (eight) classes at PS-IH, both online via Ms Teams and offline on the UIB campus.
The eight practitioners involved were Virginia Garcia, S.H., M.H., from the Purwodadi District Court; Roni Gunawan Rajaguguk, S.H., M.H., from Law Firm HNR Partnership; Ivana Dian Andini, S.H., M.H., from Temanggung District Prosecutor’s Office; Stefeni John Siska, S.H., M.Kn., from Notary/PPAT Office Titik Aminah S.H., M.Kn.; Sylvana Agnetha Wulan, S.H., M.H., from Rainer Wagyu & Partners (RWP) Law Office; Caisa Aamuliadiga, S.H., M.H., from INTEGRITY Law Firm; Nur Hadiyati, S.H., M.H., from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency; and Firmansyah, S.H., M.H., from the office of Firmansyah S.H., M.H. & Colleague. The active participation of practitioners in this learning process adds value to the quality of education at PS-IH and opens the door for students to gain direct perspectives from practitioners who have been successful in law.
The results of implementing this activity include improving the quality of learning materials, updating the curriculum, increasing student involvement, aligning with DUDI standards, and increasing the number of teaching practitioners on campus. With this activity, PS-IH UIB can better prepare its students for challenges in the world of work with relevant material and innovative learning approaches.
As Dean of the UIB Faculty of Law, Dr. Lu Sudirman expressed his happiness with the successful implementation of this teaching practitioner activity, which is expected to positively impact the quality of education and students’ preparation for the world of work.
