Saturday, February 29, 2020, UKM UIB Theater held an annual event which was Seminar & Performance of Literary Arts in Color II. This program, which is familiarly called SCDW, now is carrying the theme of Commemorating True Love. The performance was attended by more than 140 people consisting of UIB students and invited students from other campuses. The event was also attended by the UIB Theater Advisor, Mrs. Ridhayati Farid, S.Psi; a Speaker from Tanjung Pinang, a writer, musician and art activist, Barozi Alaika; who came to deliver a material entitled “Building Interests and Expressing a Work in the Form of Art”. The event was also attended by the representatives of the Social Office namely Drs. Zul Arif, MH who will later receive donations such as notebooks, storybooks and motivation from the Student and Alumni Development Department (BPKA UIB). Not only that, but some alumni from UIB Theater also present including Rio Renaldo Prasena and Imransyah Alam Pasaribu.
The performance was performed by UIB students who are members of UIB Theater. The performance was Stand-Up Comedy by Ari Pamuji, Modern Dance by Muhammad Azril Akbar et al., and musical theater performance entitled Habibie and Ainun: Remembering True Love. A special appearance was also shown by Binar Petrajati et al from UKM UIB Choir or commonly called Voca Amazia.
We hope that this annual event can be a media for the implementation of arts by UIB Theater. Besides, we also hope that it can be an inspiration for UIB students to build interest and express themselves through artwork.
