Batam, 15 December 2023 – The English Language Education Study Program, together with the English Department Student Association (PBI Student Association), has succeeded in holding collaborative activities with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Batam, namely a film show and a multinational culinary showcase with the theme Act Today: You Could Be Part of the Solution International Migrants Day Festival 2023 which will be held on Friday, December 15 2023 and lasts for two hours. This activity starts from 18.30 to 20.00 WIB and is offline in Room B103, Building B, Batam International University.
This activity was held to provide experience for students and significantly improve their English language skills. Furthermore, for lecturers, this activity is intended to provide opportunities to develop collaborative learning, and in implementing this program, lecturers have the opportunity to develop experience in activities outside campus with an international scope. Furthermore, this activity aims to provide opportunities for students to participate in international programs and part-time student outbound activities by directly inviting the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Batam to facilitate students. This activity was attended by English language education lecturers, students from Batam International University, PBI students and students from other study programs.
The activity began with an opening by the MC presented by Class 22 student Diba Yuri Mustafa. After the opening, the activity continued with a multinational culinary showcase. In this session, the participants seemed to enjoy and try all the food served by IOM. Many types of multinational food are served, such as samosas, briyani rice, kebabs, etc. Then, 15 minutes later, the participants were directed to return to their seats. The next session was an explanation from one of the immigrants regarding the culinary delights served. After that, the MC asked several participants for their impressions of the food served.

Entering the core of the activity, namely the film show. IOM made this film, and it runs for approximately 30 minutes. After the film was broadcast, it immediately continued with the film discussion and question and answer session led by Mr. Franciscus Chris Simamora, M.A..
After a series of events had been held, the event ended with distributing prizes to students who had asked questions in the question and answer session and continued with a group photo.
