National Webinar Series: All About Marriage Law in Indonesia # 3 “Marriages Are Different Countries From an Indonesian Legal Perspective”

The National Webinar Series 3 was held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 and organized by Law Student Association of Universitas Internasional Batam. The National Webinar was conducted online via Zoom Meeting at 13.30 – 15.30 WIB. The theme presented was “Marriage of Different Countries from the Perspective of Indonesian Law” presenting two speakers, namely Ms. Putri Andini, S.H., M.H., LL.M and Mrs. Winda Fitri, S.H., M.H., who were lecturers at Universitas Internasional Batam. The two speakers presented the materials very interestingly and informatively.The webinar was attended by students and the general public with a total of 134 participants.

This webinar aims to provide education and broad knowledge about marriages in different countries. Mixed marriage is regulated in article 57 of Law No.1 of 1974 concerning Marriage where there is an element of marriage between a man and a woman. In Indonesia, it is subject to different laws due to differences in nationality and one of the parties is Indonesian citizen. Those involved in mixed marriages must fulfill several conditions of marriage by preparing the required documents to be registered and reported to the Indonesian population administration system.
