There is a negative connotation in Indonesia which stigmatizes mentally ill patients. As a result, people with mental illness are reluctant to seek help for fear of being judged. With the ease and convenience of a phone app, people can be further pushed to seek help with the assurance that their data and consultation details will be kept private, and all just in their phone instead of having to go to a clinic. Second, treatment in an actual medical clinic (with a physical office ) is relatively expensive, taking operational costs into account; as well as the fact that they generally only have 1 source of income, namely from the patients themselves. Because PsyGo has lower operating costs, and also has more than 1 source of revenue (plus ad revenue revenue), the price of each therapy can be reduced to make it more affordable. This further encourages people to seek help because they no longer have to worry too much about the high cost of seeking help from conventional medical clinics.

Nationwide, PsyGo is also addressing a shortage of licensed therapists. As mentioned above, the average Indonesian only has 1 licensed psychologist for every 300,000 to 400,000 patients. With practical applications that help meet psychologists and patients, patients from remote areas can now seek help from licensed psychologists, and psychologists can also treat more patients because their market is now expanding throughout Indonesia; not just patients who live in their area. As a sociopreneur, every business that is created must have a background of underlying social problems. PsyGo is no exception.

Mental health problems are a serious problem in Indonesia, including in East Java, a province on the island of Java. Based on a national survey or Basic Health Research, 1 the prevalence of severe mental illness such as schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders in East Java is 2.2 per million. This figure is higher than the national prevalence in Indonesia which is 1.7 per million. People with mental disorders struggle to recover from illness; However, they face stigmatization by society. Stigma is a negative labeling of a certain group of people, which can have a negative impact on people with mental disorders. First, stigma forms a bad image of mental disorders. Second, stigma also makes people with mental disorders lose self-esteem and self-efficacy, and prevents them from seeking medical help for their clinical conditions. Stigma can result in discrimination against persons with mental disorders and prevent them from obtaining two important opportunities to pursue their life goals: employment opportunities and opportunities to live independently and securely. Unfortunately, the stigma against people with mental disorders was found not only limited to the general population but also among health professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurses who work with people with mental disorders.

One form of discrimination due to stigma against persons with mental disorders is the practice of pasung. Pasung is the practice of confining and detaining the mentally ill. In Indonesia, pasung is quite common. The National Basic Health Research1 recorded 1,655 cases of shackling people with mental disorders in Indonesia. In addition, based on e-pasung data, there were 9,2369 cases of pasung in East Java. Pasung is more common in rural areas and is often carried out by members of families with low socioeconomic status. Pasung duration can range from a few days to several years. The most common reason behind the practice of pasung by families of people with mental disorders is safety, both for the patient and the community. But these methods have proven to be ineffective, as their popularity has encouraged people to become increasingly afraid to seek help for their mental illness.

Apart from that, of the 9 million reported cases, more than half are cases of minors, or young adults with an age range of 17-24 years. This is now considered a serious problem affecting the new generation of our nation; the youth who are expected to take over our nation; because they are considered as minds that are more brilliant than ours. Leaving this problem unresolved will affect our nation as a whole. Because, if the next generation of our nation will lose their youth, who should take over our nation in the future? Due to the ineffectiveness of methods for dealing with mental illness in Indonesia, it is necessary to have an initiative to develop a new method. As a sociopreneur, what is being done here is to build a platform where all people from all over Indonesia can enjoy consulting facilities from a licensed psychologist. An application where everyone can pour out their heavy thoughts on a licensed psychologist who can help them before they lead to the level of mental illness. Or for those who already have signs of mental illness, psychologists are also available to detect it and provide the necessary consultations without fear of being judged or treated unfairly such as the pasung method.
