Batam (01/3/2021) Law Degree Program of Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) has finished carrying out the National Scientific Writing Competition for Students with the theme “Increasing Justice and Assertiveness in Law Enforcement in Indonesia”. This competition is a forum for students as intellectuals who are considered capable of producing constructive thoughts as a group that has a role to play in resolving various national polemics as well as supporting the process of achieving Indonesia as a welfare state.This competition was held online, but still went well and participants were still enthusiastic about participating in every stage of the competition. Participants in this competition came from various universities, both public and private. The competition opened on December 28, 2020, participants should passed the initial stage of submitting papers until February 10, 2021 and entered the preliminary stage with 10 finalists left. Furthermore, 10 finalists sent their scientific paper presentation videos and PPT for the selection of 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place winner, and best presentation winner.Announcement of winners for Best Presentation was announced via Zoom on March 1, 2021 at 14.00-15.00 which was attended by all the finalists of the scientific writing competition, the judges, and the committee. The determination of the winners is based on the accumulated assessment of scientific papers of 60%, and assessment of video presentations and PPT 40%.
The winners in this competition are as follows:The 1st winner was won by a team from Gajah Mada University. The team consisted of Aqshal Muhammad Arsyah, Tariq Hidayat Pangestu, and Muhammad Hamzah Al Faruq with a score of 6,595 with a good grade. The title of the paper is “The Urgency of Regulatory Reformulation and the Application of the Concept of Deprivation of In Rem and Plea Without Bargaining in the Eradication of Corruption by Corporations”. Gajah Mada University team also won the Best Presentation.The 2nd winner was won by a team from the University of North Sumatra. The team consisted of Teuku M. Qashmal Jabbar, Parlindungan Harahap, and Nabil Abduh Aqil with a score of 5,953 with the predicate of Sufficient value. The title of the paper is “The Urgency of Strengthening the Authority of the Judicial Commission as an Effort to Uphold the Honor, the Nobility of Judges in Law Enforcement in Indonesia”.The 3rd place winner was won by a team from the University of Indonesia. The team consisted of Yonathan Wiryajaya Wilion, Muhammad Rizqi Alfarizi R., Alexander Stanislaus J. W. Toar Harryandi, with a value of 5.932 with the value of Enough. The title of the paper “Structuring the Covid-19 Vaccination Program Policy Based on the Principle of Benefit through the Elimination of Vaccination Obligations and the Issuance of Independent Vaccination Policies”.
All committees and Law Degree Program of Universitas Internasional Batam congratulate the selected winners.
