Student organizations are a place for developing talents and interests for the potentials of each student. Therefore, the development of student organizations is considered very influential on the development of soft skills and character building for students themselves. Prospective undergraduate graduates are not only equipped with hard skills. The success of a graduate depends on the soft skills and character they have when entering the community. Therefore, it is necessary to more intensively provide soft skills and character development for students through several Activities include activities in student organizations.
The Student Organizations Management Workshop on Saturday, August 21, 2021, was designed to provide direction and motivation for each student organization, especially to make work programs, implement and evaluate, and prepare Accountability Reports. The main issues in this workshop are related to organizational leadership and work program planning. This activity was attended by representatives of all Student Organizations at Universitas Internasional Batam.
This workshop contains material on the preparation of the Student Organizations work program and the management of the Student Organizations. Mrs. Ridhayati Farid, S. Psi., MM. the material presented on the program explains the importance of planning a measurable work program to increase the achievement of the program that has been prepared.
“All programs must be measured. Their scope must be specified to provide maximum benefit to all members of their Student Organizations. Set indicators for the success of the program so that we know how our achievements and performance are so that they can be used as evaluations for the program and the next management,” said Mrs. Ridha.
After an explanation regarding the preparation of the Student Organizations program, the workshop continued with material on Student Organizations management presented by Ms. Evalina Elda Br Siagian, S.IKom includes a Guide for Submission of Activity Proposals, an Activity Accountability Report Guide, and the completeness of systems and websites that are part of the implementation of the Student Organizations program.
This activity lasted for approximately 5 hours including a presentation session on the preparation of work programs from representatives of Student Organizations as well as a question-and-answer session which was followed by high enthusiasm from all workshop participants. This activity was closed with closing words from Mrs. Ridha and a group photo with all the workshop participants. Furthermore, UIB Student Organizations administrators for the 2021/2022 period will be inaugurated at the 2021 UIB Freshmen Welcoming event on Saturday, August 28, 2021, and will serve for the next year.
