The Welcoming UIB Freshmen activity on August 28, 2021, was held to welcome new students at Universitas Internasional Batam for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. This activity is a part of the implementation of the Campus Life Introduction Program (P2K2) and the second time it has been held online at UIB, considering that it is still in a pandemic condition which makes it impossible to hold face-to-face meetings. However, this does not reduce the value and enthusiasm of UIB to welcome new students.
Welcoming UIB Freshmen was held through Room Zoom, attended by 829 P2K2 participants. The Chairman of the Yayasan Marga Tionghoa Batam, UIB Rector, Vice-Rector, Deans, Heads of Study Programs, lecturers, and staff attended this activity.
In his remarks, the UIB Chancellor expressed hope for new UIB students batch 2021. “We hope that as leaders in higher education, students can take lessons so that they can get the maximum benefit from what they learn during lectures.”
The chairman of the Yayasan Marga Tionghoa Batam, Mr. Soehendro Gautama, S.H., M.Hum, was also present.
“Together from the campus, millions think about the best ways how scientific transformation can run well even though there are still obstacles to face-to-face meetings. The ideals must always remain passionate, no one should give up, in any difficult situation there are always ways to overcome it,” said Mr. Soehendro Gautama, S.H., M.Hum.
In this activity, the committee announced the winners of the Top 10 Scores at UTEP, UCEPT, and TKBI, and the winners of the Tik Tok Competition, the five best new student groups in the Mental Health Video, Mental Pandemic, and the five best groups in the Student Art Performance Video. All participants will receive an award certificate which can be recognized as an achievement and submitted as SKPI points. UIB congratulates the winners and appreciates all the work of P2K2 participants.
