Many dishonorable actions occur among Indonesian people, even in the world. Many crimes have arisen, such as physical and non-physical crimes, violence from direct speech or social media often occur at this time. By looking this case, we definetely cannot take a massive action to stop this matter. Over this time, millennials can bring and carry out something to overcome this situation. Raising unitary awareness is needed to create millennials’ national understanding. In other words, young generation can avoid their society from bad influnce.
On this occasion, the Students and Alumni Development Department wanted to hold a talkshow with Indonesian youth generation entitled “Indonesian Millennials: The Unifying Nation”. This is a calling for young generation to be more beneficial for the society for Indonesia’s changing. This brief activity will take an intensive interaction with students as audiences.
The talk show was collaboration between BPKA and Purna Caraka Muda Indonesia (PCMI) of Riau Islands on Saturday, February 21, 2020, in the Hall of Universitas Internasional Batam. The speakers in this talk show were UIB alumni and PCMI members who experienced in youth activities, including Dafi Pralibdo, ICHYEP (Indonesia China Youth Exchange Program) in 2013; Ella Laraswati, AYREPSE (ASEAN Youth Representative Experiencing The Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy) 2018; Rina Mustifany, AIYEP (Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program) 2017; Feggy Alfa, KPN (Nusantara Youth Ship) Sail Pasigala in 2018; Putri Syuhada, KPN (Nusantara Youth Ship) Sail Nias in 2019. The talk show was also hosted by a moderator who was an alumnus of UIB namely Eka Damanas, KPN (Nusantara Youth Ship) Sail Raja Ampat in 2014)
